The sewer and water line replacement program is being offered to residents of Auburn as a way of spreading out payments, easing the burden of paying all at once. This is a revolving loan that will be placed on the homeowner’s tax bill and paid over a span of 5 years at a 6% interest rate. A local resident is eligible for this program if all taxes are current, your property is no larger than a 4 unit residence and the application is approved. The predetermined amount that the City will fund is up to $9000 for sewer, and $2500 for water. Once a licensed plumber has been approved, all work will be inspected by the city Plumbing Inspector before payment will be issued to the plumber. Keep in mind, it is necessary to receive an itemized quote from a plumber. The itemized quote must be consistent with pricing obtained from the plumbing board and approved by the City.
