Construction Causing Delays in Sewer Project

Earlier this year, the Lake Placid village board announced that the sewer lines beneath Main Street would be replaced and updated to protect a nearby lake from sewage leaks. Underground Dwellings in the Big Apple: Water and Sewer Infrastructure Upgrades

Recently, a $71 million reconstruction project was completed in the New York City borough of Queens that comprised of thousands of feet in new sewer line and water mains to be installed. Crews wrapped up six years of work in installing more than 7,700 linear feet of storm sewers, which should help improve drainage in Flushing, Whitestone and College Point. The city also replaced more than 8,000 linear feet of iron water pipes to improve water distribution in the area and installed 1,800 linear feet of sanitary sewers. These investments provide a number of positives to the heavily populated area.

New York City Designs Retention Tanks for Sewer Overflows

The City of New York is currently working on a design for two combined sewage and storm water overflow (CSO) retention tanks and securing functionality of locations for the tanks to be installed. Ogdensburg’s Sewer System Project

Residents of Ogdensburg, your sewer line replacement is in effect and taking place at the old gas plant in Niagara Mohawk.  The Department of Environmental Conservation, has initiated an enhancement to the underground infrastructure that will replace approximately 180 ft. of sewer line pipes along King St North of the former gas plant.   The regulations regarding disposal and site restoration will be followed in accordance with the EPA.  The installation work is scheduled to be completed by the end of September and will include air monitoring and evaluations.  The site was subject to a cleanup action in 2013 that
